Photography
Just so everyone knows...I am now getting into photography more seriously. Ask me about pricing. Anyone interested in shots should contact me.

Otherwise, I am working on a bunch of articles for a local paper and also IntoCombat Magazine. Trying to track these people down can be difficult if not impossible.

I have an audition on Friday, which I would love to get. I would enjoy working with palm beach film school again. Great crew over there.

My article in www.soflim.net comes out tomorrow!

I'm Back!
Hey, long break. Keep in mind...plays are a BIG time committment...unfortunately.

The play "Beware the Eyes of Mars" went well. Through trials, tribulation, illness and drama, the show went on.

Opening night-- our fog machine set off the fire alarm!! Hillarious! We had to evacuate the building. Then the curtain broke. The lighting cues didn't happen. One of the androids wigs fell off during the dance, etc. It just seemed like anything that could go wrong, did go wrong.

Once the fire alarm went off, we all relaxed. Nothing could hurt us now and the audience still loved us.

The rest of the week was mediocre until Saturday. The final Saturday was everything you want a play to be. The lights were perfect, the acting perfect, the audience laughed at everything and clapped at every number. Ideal. People kept commenting afterward what a good job we did and how much they loved it. They even sang the songs and mimicked the characters.

Sunday also went well but the audience was dead. But Frank, director from Sci-Fi movie (coming soon), filmed the play; he will be helping out. Helpful guy-- that Frank. :) And a good bowler I hear (in case he's reading.) :)

Anyway...I'm sick...another side effect of being in a cramped dressing room with other sick actors.

I'm off to get cookies. I've lost so much weight. I can afford a few. I'm down to 114 lbs!!!! That's what stress and lack of sleep and a few "Heatwave" dances will do. :)

Talk soon!

Still busy aka new booking
Still busy.

Been rehearsing for awesome play.

Just got cast in a sci fi picture (possibly Star Trek related) as a security officer. :) Will be filming in the summer.

Just interviewed the director of our play for an article.

Just got three new writing assignments today and am still finishing up others.

And my internet went out!

Yikes.

This play is like a Browadway show. Ask me about tickets!

busy
Mood:  a-ok
I have been too busy to blog. I have interviewed J.D. from INXS--highlight of highlights! More about that later.

Also been rehearsing for play, writing a lot.

Been sending out query letters to new magazines and old to get more writing work.

I have new headshots if anyone wants to see.

I am auditioning for more films the next couple days...

Read a book called "How full is your bucket?" Decided to be more positive and proactive in my life!

Happy New Year!

Had sushi and worked on writing the calendar for City Smart on New Year's!

Also, working on getting a publisher for my acting book. You can buy a copy now from this site.

I'll give more in depth detail later!

King Tut
Went to go to the King Tut exhibit at the Museum of Art. I was disappointed in a few things. First, they said I hadn't paid for audio tickets when I ahd so I had to go clear that up. Then, they said I had to use a port o potty instead of indoor bathrooms. Yuk. Then even though we had a scheduled time, they let so many people in at the same time that I had to rush through and push people out of the way to see the exhibit.

Other than that, the collection, of course, was amazing. Everything was temperature controlled. Everything was so ornate-- every surface covered in beauty and writing. There were pieces decorated in the most beautiful robin's egg blue... not even robin's egg...an unexplainable beautiful blue. It's amazing how these pieces have lasted so long.

The stuff I saw corresponded with a lot of things that author Zecheria Sitchin said in his book (see review section). Very interesting. As I looked at the descriptions of various pieces, I felt like none of it was true. It could be interpreted differently...as Sitchin does.

The audio tape was narrated by Omar Sharif (too lazu right now to check spelling on that). I didn't feel his descriptions were that compelling and they only corresponded with a few pieces-- not the whole exhibit. I don't think it added to it.

I was also disappointed that the actual tut sarcophogus was no there. But there was the sarcophogus of someone else.

But I enjoyed the film about the autopsy of King Tut and about the sarcophogus. The initial film was too brief, although a good idea.

Anyway, the exhbit was both long and short all at once and overall definitely worth seeing. After all, how often do you get a peek 3300 years in the past?

Do you hear the mummies talking?

By the way, despite the cheesiness of the idea of Jordan Frasier, I really like the movie "Mummy" and Mummy 2. I've seen them several times.

Covering an event aka Don't trust Yahoo maps
Mood:  down
Now Playing: Jay Leno
Covered Century 21's annual xmas party at the Signature Grand. The problem is that I printed out directions on Yahoo. I ended up getting lost for an hour and 1/2. Fortunately, I finally found the place and didn't miss much.

I was worried about entering a space filled with 300 people fancily dressed late. But I found a few empty tables and another with one gentleman with a camera sitting quietly. He was surprised to turn around and see me sitting next to him.

He was not a member of the media as I had assumed, but a professional photographer hired by the company. He helped me decipher the large Canon camera I had been given by the publisher. This one is different than the normal tiny digital I use and I had a very brief instruction session on how to use it. I decided I don't like it. Just like a car, I like automatic. I would rather spend time framing the photo and just right than worrying about gadgets. I seem to take excellent photos if I am working with a camera that vibes with me. This one did not.

I couldn't figure out how to zoom in. I don't think you can. I think it only zooms after the fact. I don't like it.

The event was very nice. I was dressed up in a business dress. Most other women were half-out in evening gowns. I was underdressed perhaps for once. I was okay with that.

I was starving. Luckily, I got to eat. They had salad, chicken, prime rib sauteed in mushrooms and sauce and mashed potatoes with skins mixed in the potatoes. It was pretty good. I don't eat red meat so I was happy they had chicken. It was stuffed with some sort of veggies. (This is not my typical review, okay). It was followed by a not so good chocolate cake with rasberry sauce.

The fan fare put on when they presented the food was worth seeing. They played the theme from "Close Encounters" and rolled out tables filled with silver buffet trays. The procession was guided by an orchestral conductor of sorts complete with white gloves and waving hand. The lights dimmed and an announcer comparable with they guy from Price is Right announced that the main course was served. They proceeded to serve us and discoesque classic music followed. In the middle of the award ceremony, they brought in Mariachi players complete with Sombreros. Of course, the evening wouldn't be complete without latin dancing.

I ran out of there about then. Past my bedtime (11:00 p.m.) I was able to write down information and snap off a few pics of the winners.

Luckily, everything worked out. My article will be published soon!

Clay Aiken interview
Mood:  chillin'
Now Playing: Jay Leno
I interviewed Clay yesterday. It was an odd experience. His publicist had set up the time. A woman called me and said she had Clay on the line. The reception was bad. We lost connection several times. When we were finally on, she informed me we had ten minutes to talk.

I glanced over my 15 plus questions and knew I had to pick and choose. Moving quickly over the niceties, I plunged head first into my first question. I was a bit nervous really just because of the speed factor. What added to it was the fact that Clay was talking 100 miles an hour. I busily tried to jot down his every word.

My tape recorder doesn't work well over the cell phone. It makes awful static and beeping noises when you listen back to it. Note to self: find a better solution.

What added insult to injury was the fact that I appeared to have faulty research when it came to his book. I thought it had just been released. Turns out it was released last year. He seemed a bit brash about that and overall rushed and ready to get the interview overwith. I could imagine someone with a stopwatch standing over him and him spending all day for 15 hours making one phone call after another.

He came off a bit more jaded that I expected. I wanted to hear from his own words what the experience of being American Idol was like, what it was like to go from boy next door to instant celebrity. His response was that that was two years ago and he doesn't remember that far. Hmmmm.

His southern drawl and philosophy made me laugh, which I did expect. I know that he doesn't have goals for himself. I asked him if he had a mission statement. He said "Oh Gawd no" in heavy drawl and added that 'let go and let God' was his mantra. Hmmm.

Anyway, I wrote the article for New Times and found out that the Miami edition would also be printing it. Hoorah. I overwrote the piece as they did not give me a word count so they had to chop it heavily. I will be interested to see the result. It should come out next week, by the way!

Overall, a learning experience to be sure. I hope to attend the concert and meet him in person. I think phone interviews, especially with so many questions involved and so little time is extremely difficult. I know it is easy to get a bad impression.
---------------
Anyway, taking it easy a bit today. Tomorrow I will be attending a party I will write about. Stay tuned. I was also invited to write about a Hard Rock event tonight but got the message too late.

Writing like crazy/ Lumonics Reopens
Today, I wrote three articles and conducted the interviews as well. One was about infertility. Another was about auto buying consultants. The third-- about a nail salon. I also edited and resubmitted another article about Dermatology.

In addition, I came up with questions for Clay Aiken. I will be interviewing him tomorrow! It looks like I will be getting tickets as well as being able to attend a meet and greet.

I am working on other upcoming concerts. INXS is already in the works, for example.

I am tired.

I have four other articles at least due this month plus the calendar and INXS. Plus whatever else may come up.

Lumonics

By the way, Lumonics reopened. I went to their holiday party. I used to do poetry performances there and hope to again. This cool art gallery is a must see, hippie vibe crash pad perfect for the down beat rhythms of a dazed and confused generation or those who wished they had been born years past when lights and sound intermingled into a cosmic orgasmic mindf*** that somehow explained the ins and outs of the blackhole we call existence. Groovy. Check it. www.lumonics.net.
